7 Habits Family Training

I want to personally invite our BPE families to the 7 Habits Family training on September 17, 2016.  To find out more information, click HERE on how to register for the day.

Fall 2015 Family Training Graduates
This training is offered for our families to help create a stronger bond at home and to solidify a connection between home and school with the 7 Habits principles.  Our campus started the Leader in Me journey almost 4 years ago and we are committed to "Inspire and Empower Learners of All Ages".  I can personally say that when I was a participant almost 7 years ago at this very same training, it allowed for my wife and I to have a clearer path on where we wanted to go with our children.
We are looking forward to seeing you on the 17th.

Deep thoughts... our families reflecting on their family mission statements.

Here are some of our previous families' responses to the training:

  • "I enjoyed interacting with others and sharing different points of view."
  • "Great videos, the materials were easy to digest."
  • "Liked the work sessions and filling out the sections in the workbook.  I made us think and be introspective."
  • Enjoyed the hand on and practical reflection exercises."

Back To School On the Prairie- Help Me Reach My Widely Important Goal

It is always such an amazing time of year when we open our doors to welcome back students on the "Prairie".  Teachers, parents and students are all so excited to have a fresh start on their journey in education.

In life, we look for ways to make change for the better in our learning and profession.  This year I am looking to connect with students, teachers and families on the learning that takes place each and every day on our campus.

One of my Widely Important Goals is to utilize Storify as a way to pull information together in a visual media presentation.  What I need help with is parents, staff and community members to use the hastag #BPECATS on Twitter, Facebook or Google+.  By adding this hashtag, I will leverage Storify's capabilities to help tell our "GREATNESS" story for this school year.  Please get the word out to all who will listen.

Thank you for being an amazing partner on this journey in education for our students and community.

Here are the first "Storify" stories I created.  Enjoy.

Little Free Library

We all know that reading is fundamental in life.  While in school, we acquire this skill that will last us a life time of learning and enjoyment.
When Ms. Beasley, our campus librarian, retired at the end of last year she wanted to leave a small legacy at her campus that was near and dear to her heart.  She purchased "The Little Free Library" as a way to share her love of reading.   You can find all about this neat program at the following link.
In a nut shell, this allows a person to leave a book and take a book from the library station.  It is a great way to recycle books already read and to find new adventures between the covers of a new book.
Blackland's Little Library is located at the front of the school next to the side walk going towards Via Sonoma and Fern Springs.
Happy reading on the Prairie.
